Public Hearing on Green Acres Library Diversion

You may have seen the public hearing signs posted at the Ventnor City Library and at the Ventnor West acreage. They are part of an important step in resolving a long-standing Green Acres issue.

The hearing will address the past diversion of approximately 0.31 acres of Ventnor Library Park associated with the 2006 expansion of the Ventnor City Library and Cultural Arts Center.

As part of the application, the City is proposing to dedicate approximately 149 acres in Ventnor West for conservation and recreation purposes.

Legalizing the diversion will help bring the City into compliance with Green Acres and move forward with future funding opportunities for our parks and recreational projects.

Residents are encouraged to attend and provide public comment. Written comments will also be accepted through November 5, 2026.
