PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

TAKE NOTICE that the City of Ventnor ("City") will hold a public hearing to obtain comments on its diversion application to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection ("NJDEP"). The City is requesting approval for the past diversion of a 0.31-acre portion of Ventnor Library Park (Block 28, Lot 1) that will legalize the 2006 expansion of the Ventnor City Library and Cultural Arts Center. To compensate for the past diversion, the City agrees to dedicate for conservation and recreation purposes approximately 149 acres of land in Ventnor West (Block 366 Lot 2 and Block 367 Lot 1).

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.11(e), a hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held at:

Ventnor City Hall, 6201 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor, NJ, on Thursday October 22, 2026, at 6:30pm.

All information submitted by the City to NJDEP in support of this requested diversion of parkland is available for public review at the City Clerk’s office at, 6201 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor, NJ, at Ventnor City Library 6500 Atlantic Ave, Ventnor City, NJ 08406, and at the NJDEP, Office of Transactions and Public Land Administration, Public Land Compliance Section at 401 East State Street, 7th Floor, Mail Code 401-07, P.O. Box 420, Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0420, (609) 940-4400.

Public comment on this request will be accepted during the public hearing or until end of day November 5, 2026.
