The City of Ventnor City provides guarded beaches during the Summer months (between Memorial Day and Labor Day) at the following locations:
Our lifeguards are on duty from 10:00am-6:00pm daily. The beaches that our lifeguards are on duty vary during the beginning and end of the summer. Please call the Beach Headquarters at (609) 823-7948 to ascertain which beaches are guarded.
The City of Ventnor requires Beach Badges for the Beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Badges can be purchased at Ventnor City Hall or on the Beach by any Beach Badge Inspector. Badges can be purchased prior to June 1st for $7.00 for the season, and $3.50 for Seasonal Senior Citizens badges. After May 31st, badges are available at a rate of $15.00 for the Season. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

Ventnor City offers handicap locations for ramp access to the beach. These are located at: Jackson Ave and the beach, Suffolk Ave and the beach, Cornwall Ave and the beach and Newport Ave and the beach. The Suffolk and Newport locations offer Handicap parking, as well as all locations having ADA approved access ramps directly to the beach from our boardwalk. If other special assistance is required, the Ventnor City Beach Patrol offers special assistance chairs for additional access to the beach. Please contact the lifeguards to assist you.
Somerset Avenue and the Beach. Sailboats can be registered for a fee on a seasonal basis. For further information, please contact the City Clerk at 823-7904.
Princeton Avenue and the beach. While there are no lifeguards assigned to this beach, it is supervised during the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. by the lifeguards at Sacramento Avenues. Please exercise caution while kayaking.
Located next to the Fishing Pier. Open during daylight hours. There is no lifeguard assigned to this beach, it is supervised during the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. by the lifeguards at Dorset Avenue. Please exercise caution while surfing.
Located next to the Fishing Pier at Cambridge Avenue and in front of the tennis courts at Somerset Avenue.
During the times of May 15 through September 30th, leashed dogs are only allowed on the beach from the hours of 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and only on the areas of the beach washed by the high tide line.
During the times of October 1st through May 15th, dogs may be walked on a leash only on the areas of beach washed by the high tide line.
