Ventnor Water Reminds You: DO NOT FLUSH WIPES

Ventnor Water & Wastewater is keeping the drinking water and wastewater flowing and continuously meeting all drinking water standards set by the State of NJ and the Federal Government. To keep this process running smooth, please DO NOT FLUSH WIPES or other items besides toilet paper down your toilet. Wipes (even those marketed as being "flushable" on the packaging) compromise the sewer system and can cause unnecessary backups in your home.

Items such as sanitizing wipes, gloves, masks, wet wipes, baby wipes, cotton balls, paper towels, tissues, pieces of cloth. etc.  will cause clogging in home’s plumbing in addition to clogging our Municipal System. This may lead to the unnecessary expenses of a plumber or contractor for a home owner. Wipes do not breakdown in a wastewater collection system. They collect and build up in the wastewater lines.

To avoid costly repairs and damage to our sewer system, please only flush toilet paper and throw other items in the trash.
