A quick-hitting storm system will affect the region late this afternoon and this evening. Though precipitation may briefly start out as rain this afternoon, a quick transition to snow is expected through the early evening before tapering off overnight.

Locations affected: Most of the area is expected to see snow. However, the highest totals are expected in inland portions the County.

Timing: Precipitation may begin briefly as rain late this afternoon with snow primarily from around 6 pm to 10 pm this evening. Confidence on timing is moderate.

Amounts: A coating to 1” Impacts: Snow may cause slippery travel, particularly on untreated surfaces. In addition, snow rates may be moderate at times this evening, leading to quick accumulation and visibilities of less than a mile.
