The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Ventnor City area through Wednesday evening, October 21, as a coastal storm off the Mid-Atlantic coast brings prolonged onshore winds, multiple rounds of tidal flooding, and gusty conditions.
Coastal Flooding
Multiple rounds of tidal flooding are expected through Wednesday evening, with widespread minor flooding and the possibility of low-end moderate flooding, particularly in back bay communities.
The highest water levels are expected during Wednesday evening's high tide cycle. Low-lying areas near tidal waterways may experience flooding, potentially resulting in partial or full road closures. Additional flooding is possible beyond Wednesday as elevated tides persist.
Gusty Winds
Northeasterly winds are expected to remain gusty through Wednesday, with coastal wind gusts reaching 30–40 mph. Winds are expected to gradually decrease Wednesday night into Thursday.
Marine Conditions
A Gale Warning remains in effect for much of New Jersey's coastal waters through late Wednesday. Northeasterly wind gusts of 35–45 knots and seas of 8–12 feet are possible in the affected marine areas.
Safety Reminders
Residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor weather conditions, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and use caution in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Those living near tidal waterways should be particularly alert during high tide cycles.
