The City of Ventnor has secured critical infrastructure funding through the Boardwalk Preservation Act of $7.1 million dollars to replace the boardwalk from Jackson Avenue to Cambridge Avenue. The scope of work includes complete demolition and reconstruction of the boardwalk structure, the pavilions, street end ramps, railing and lighting between Jackson Avenue and Cambridge Avenue.
The City has awarded a contract to Fred Schiavone Construction, and work is anticipated to begin on or about the first week of November 2025. The project will be constructed in two phases, phase 1 from Suffolk Avenue to Cambridge Avenue (Fall 2025 – Spring 2026) and phase 2 from Suffolk Avenue to Jackson Avenue (Fall 2026 – Winter 2026).
For your safety, the boardwalk will be closed from Surrey Avenue to the Fishing Pier access ramp (pier will remain accessible) beginning on or about November 3, 2025, and will remain closed until completion which is anticipated by May 1, 2026.
We appreciate your patience while construction is taking place and look forward to seeing you on the new boardwalk in the spring!
