Hydrant Testing and Water Flushing Now Through May 13

The City is conducting annual hydrant pressure testing and mandated water main flushing throughout the city from now through May 13.

Testing has begun at Jackson Avenue and will proceed south through Fredericksburg Avenue followed by Ventnor West and finishing in Ventnor Heights.

Residents should not be alarmed if discoloration of tap water is noticed, as this condition is not harmful and will after running water for a few minutes.

Residents should avoid washing clothes, especially white loads, while the water is discolored.

There may be periods where the water pressure will drop somewhat when testing and flushing are ongoing throughout the day.
