Nights In Ventnor, Go Green Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. with a rain date planed for Sunday, August 4.
All crafts powered by non-fossil fuel, or green power are welcomed. Paddlers should meet at Ski Beach (or Dorset Avenue Boat Ramp) no later than 5:15 for registration and line up. The Gilda’s Club Dragon Boat has the honor of leading the parade through the inland waterways of Ventnor. Finishing at the Doc Holland Boat House there will be a barbecue, music, and the announcement of prizes for creative costumes.
There will also be a youth division for paddlers 14 and under. A 1st place prize will be a new bicycle complements of AAAA Bike Shop.
Pre-registration in the form of checks or money orders ONLY can be dropped off at Ventnor Heights Auto & Marine 118 N Dorset Ave. or AAAA Bike Shop at 5300 Ventnor Ave. Pre-registration is open through business hours Wednesday, July 31st. Pre-registration is $20.00 per person, $15.00 if a group of three or more register together. Children 14 and under are free, but MUST be registered.
Participants receive a t-shirt and reusable bag while supplies last. The funds raised from this event will be used to support “Green” actions and education in Ventnor. Spectators will enjoy house parties, line the Dorset Avenue Bridge, or find a spot at street ends along the route to check out the costumes and decorations.
