The Ventnor City School District operates two schools, Ventnor Elementary School and Ventnor Middle School for students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The original school was built in 1970 with additions built in 1974, 1983, and 1997 and is currently building an addition to be completed in 2001 which will house a new Early Childhood facility. High school students attend Atlantic City High School on a sending-receiving relationship that has existed since 1920. The high school is an $83 million state-of-the art facility.

The district’s management team is comprised of a superintendent, a business administrator, a board secretary, two building principals and a curriculum supervisor. The district employs 90 teachers 4 secretaries, and 4 clerk typists. In addition part-time library and instructional aides and many volunteers round out the staff. A full-time Child Study Team is available for children with special needs. The Board of education has increased curricular offerings in the areas of science, technology, language arts and the fine arts. Other noteworthy endeavors include guidance services, after school homework class, Accelerated Reader programs, summer school and thug awareness programs which are offered as part of the curriculum throughout the school year. 

The school district is on the cutting age of technology. Each classroom houses a pod of 4-6 student computers plus a teacher computer with Internet capabilities. The middle school computers are hooked into a media retrieval system called SAFARI, which enables teacher to retrieve video via their computer. The computer lab houses 26 PC computers and courses range from keyboarding to web design.

The New Jersey State Board of Education certified the Ventnor City School District until November 1, 2004. In order to receive this certification, the Ventnor City School District met or exceeded the established monitoring standards.
