City of Ventnor Improves ISO Rating, Lowering Insurance Premiums

Through hard work, updated procedures, and improved reporting methods, the City of Ventnor has helped reduce insurance premiums for homeowners.
Following a Public Protection Classification (PPC) survey of the City’s Fire, Police and Water departments, the Insurance Service Office (ISO) upgraded the City’s classification to a Level 2 Community – one of only 22 municipalities to receive the designation in the state.
PPC is a key part of the decision-making process used by insurance companies in weighing insurance coverage decisions and developing rates. Because of the improved rating, Ventnor homeowners are expected to see a savings of $20-50 per year.
Many thanks to Chief Cahill, Dispatcher Jerry Shaffer and Water Department Supervisor Ernie Gratz and their entire departments for partaking in the survey. We sincerely thank them for their hard work and congratulate them on this rare achievement!
