Important biking and parking message for Sunday, September 17

This Sunday, September 17 there will be a special event called the Atlantic City Ironman Competition which will take place on the boardwalk in Ventnor City. Race participants will be running down the boardwalk and on the fishing pier between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Because the boardwalk will be very congested with race participants and volunteers, there will be no bicycles are allowed on the boardwalk between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 17.  

Also, there will be one lane of northbound traffic on Atlantic Avenue between Suffolk and Somerset Avenues and Washington and Martindale Avenues and no parking on the beach blocks of Suffolk Avenue, Somerset Avenue, Washington Avenue, and Martindale Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All cars must be moved from these streets or cars will be ticketed and possibly towed.

To avoid traffic congestion and/or delays, please utilize Dorset Avenue to Wellington Avenue when accessing or leaving the area.

All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to use extra caution on Sunday, September 17 due to the race.  Again, there are no bicycles allowed on the boardwalk between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday September 17 during this event.
