Ventnor Police Department Makes Arrests in Motor Vehicle Burglary

On August 11, 2017 at approximately 2:50 a.m., Ventnor City Police Officers (Off. Kevin Brady and Off. James Franco) under the supervision of Lt. Charles Wood observed two suspicious males walking aimlessly throughout a residential neighborhood and business district. The officers continued surveillance on the males onto the unit block N Newport Ave., one male (Stotts) was observed standing on the sidewalk looking in both directions and walked away as an officer approached the area. The second male (Brooks) was located exiting a parked pickup truck while simultaneously placing objects in his pockets. Further investigation revealed the vehicle owner left the door unlocked, a quantity of change was stolen from within the vehicle, and found to be in Brooks possession. Both males were taken into custody, charged on warrants with burglary, theft, and conspiracy authorized by Municipal Court Judge Michael Mosca. Both arrestees were transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The Ventnor Police Department would like to encourage residents to lock their doors and contact the police department to report suspicious activity in an effort to prevent crime.
